York County continues to be one of the fastest growing counties in the Carolinas. To help meet the demands of the growing population and business base in the county and to provide excellent service to its citizens, the County developed the 2002-2020 York County Facilities Expansion Plan. The plan set the framework for renovating existing facilities, building new facilities and providing necessary improvements throughout the County to help meet the increasing demands placed on the service centers for the County.
The CME team worked with the County to assist in the development and update of the plan to meet the changing demands as the plan is being implemented. The CME team also provided oversight of many of the projects in the plan. These consisted of upgrades of existing justice facilities, development and construction of new justice facilities, renovation of historical buildings. In addition, the CME team worked with the County to locate and evaluate possible properties or existing privately owned facilities that may be used to supplement the County’s existing facilities inventory.
The oversight and implementation of the work included many services from the planning, design and construction phases. A sampling of the services provided is noted below.
