This project consisted of the construction of a new 2-lane road starting from the I-77/Gold Hill Road Interchange and proceeding in a southeasterly direction for five miles to SC Hwy 160, east of Fort Mill, SC. CME provided environmental permitting and documentation, public involvement and education, design management, and construction administration services for this project.
Environmental Permitting. Construction impacts to jurisdictional stream channels and wetlands were permitted using Nationwide Permit #14 through the US Army Corps of Engineers Charleston District.
Public Involvement and Education. CME provided support for a ribbon-cutting ceremony along the new roadway in May, 2008.
Design Management
CME addressed design-related issues throughout the construction phase of the project.
Construction Administration
CME provided construction engineering and inspection services for this project. The project included construction of a 175 foot long bridge and the placement of over 43,000 tons of asphalt and traffic signals at three intersections.
