2003 York County Pennies for Progress

In November of 2003, the citizens of York County passed a one-cent sales tax to continue work done on the program passed in 1997. The purpose was to generate additional funds for roadway improvements throughout the County. The program, called Pennies for Progress, includes more than $200 million in projects aimed at making the road system in York County safer and more efficient.

The CME team was selected to provide management services for this important program. As the program manager, CME's responsibilities included overseeing and monitoring the environmental/planning, public involvement, design, right-of-way acquisition and construction-phase services of the 34 projects included in this seven-year capital program.
